If you would have told me 6 years ago that I would be where I’m at today, I would have laughed because I didn’t think it was possible. It always seemed like something other people achieved, but I could never. I think it’s because I’ve always been asked why my plan B is, and what my “real job”. So I let those questions determine my self-worth and capability.
I’m here to tell you to NEVER let someone else determine your value and potential.
I’ve been doing this dream of mine for 15 years. But it only became my full time career in 2020. I had a day job up till then.
Even when this became my full time job, I didn’t have faith that I would get to where I’m at now. But I started to find my voice on my page, stopped following trends, stopped comparing myself and my work to others, and stopped chasing the “sale” constantly. That’s when everything changed. I started creating pieces I was truly passionate about without constraints, I started to share my knowledge for free, and I started creating sewing patterns to offer a more accessible way for people to have a piece by me.
Sometimes I have to pinch myself and remind myself that I do deserve this.
I did not expect to find so much joy in teaching, but I’ve learned that, that is my purpose here in this social media landscape.
This dream job allows me to keep my kids at home instead of in daycare. I get to show my kids that you can follow your dreams. I get to show them that I can be a good, strong mama, and also run a passion business.
