Before asking your employer to let you work from Spain, prepare more than a relocation idea.

Review the company’s remote-work policies and decide exactly what you are proposing: a permanent move, a one-year arrangement or a trial period.

Then explain:

• Where you will live
• Which hours you will work
• How you will stay available
• What documents the company must provide
• How Social Security will be handled

Your employer may also want its own legal and tax review. The easier you make the arrangement to understand, the easier it becomes for the company to properly evaluate it.
