In this episode, Damien traveled all the way from Grants Pass, Oregon to spend a few days working with our crew, and we couldn’t have picked a more exciting job. After a powerful storm, multiple trees came crashing down onto a homeowner’s house, leaving us with a challenging and hazardous removal.

Using our 115-ton Grove crane, we carefully set up in the neighbor’s sloped driveway and lifted every piece safely off the roof before placing it in the street. Thanks to some great planning and teamwork, the entire job went smoothly without causing any additional damage to the home.

Just when we thought we’d seen it all, we uncovered a hole in the roof while removing branches—and six raccoons suddenly ran inside the homeowner’s attic! It was definitely one of the most unexpected moments we’ve experienced on a tree job.

A huge thank you to Zach, Spencer, Felipe, and Damien for all the hard work on this one. After the job, Rocky and I introduced Damien to mountain biking for the first time, and to wrap up the trip, my brother Chuck made it up from Florida and joined us for an incredible motorcycle ride through the beautiful hills of western Wisconsin near where the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers meet.
