I carry some expensive knives, and I really do not like abusing them.

Prying, scraping, opening nasty packages, cutting cardboard, and using a knife for tasks it was never really designed for can turn a beautiful EDC knife into a very expensive beater.

So why not let a $1.25 or $1.88 paring knife take the abuse instead?

Today we're taking a look at the universal paring knife sheath from @armisknifeandtool a small American family-run knife business right here in Connecticut.

The concept is simple: take an inexpensive paring knife and give it a proper carry system.

For travelers, the idea is to carry the empty sheath and purchase an inexpensive paring knife after arriving at your destination. For me, it gives me a cheap utility blade that can handle 90% of my everyday cutting tasks while saving my more expensive knives for the jobs where I actually need them.
