In today’s episode, we are visiting our friend Stephanie at Wickiup Knoll, her off-grid homestead property here in Southeast Arizona.

Stephanie has been building her homestead for the last four years, which means she started her raw land journey right around the same time we started ours. Like us, she is building with hyperadobe and using natural building, permaculture, and practical off-grid systems to slowly turn raw desert land into a working homestead.

This interview is part property tour, part homestead conversation, and part reminder that there is no single “right” way to build an off-grid life. Every property is different, every person’s vision is different, and every homestead comes together one project, one lesson, and one hard-earned solution at a time.

Hello and welcome! We are Douglas and Keri from Two Rebels Off Grid. We sold our home near Denver and most everything we owned to move onto our 36 acre off-grid homestead property in the foothills of Southeast Arizona. Follow along as we build our hyperadobe homestead from scratch and share real stories from people building more independent, self-sufficient lives.

In this video we discuss:

• Stephanie’s off-grid homestead, Wickiup Knoll
• Building from raw land in Southeast Arizona
• What four years of off-grid progress can look like
• Hyperadobe building
• Natural building techniques
• Permaculture planning
• Building slowly and intentionally
• Working with the land instead of against it
• The mindset it takes to keep going
• Off-grid problem solving
• Homestead infrastructure
• Building community with other off-grid homesteaders
• Why every homestead journey looks different

Stephanie’s property is a beautiful example of what can happen when someone commits to a vision and keeps showing up for it. Building off grid is not fast, easy, or always pretty, but over time the progress starts to tell a story.

We are excited to begin sharing more interviews like this with other people who are building off grid, homesteading, natural building, raising animals, practicing permaculture, and creating a more self-sufficient lifestyle in their own way.
