I break down the exact tools I use to build AI agents that automate email and calendar work, and it costs about $20 to start.

Here is what you need.

1. Hermes, which is free.
2. ChatGPT, which runs about $20 minimum.
3. A terminal. Cmux if you are on Mac, Warp or the free Terminal app if you are on PC.
4. A place to host it so it stays on all the time. This can be a VPS like Railway, a droplet, or even small hosting through Hostinger.

The main idea is simple. Your agent needs to run all the time. That means either your own computer stays on, or you rent someone else's computer to stay on for you. That is the whole game.
